In Procession of the Sultan, a majestic giraffe bears a vibrant Russian onion dome on its back as it glides across the sunlit sands of Jamaica. This tribute to Schwartz’s heritage blends hand-painted palace motifs with coastal huts and distant temple spires. Begun in 2002 during the artist’s trip to Jamaica and completed in 2021, the work fuses Eastern European legacy with Caribbean pageantry to celebrate cultural convergence and a personal journey across continents.
